The body has just undergone a thorough inspection and major work has been carried out at Tuthills. All external blemishes repaired and car re-sprayed this month (August 2017).

The original engine was 2.2S, now fitted with 2.4 fuel injected engine for better torque. This was rebuilt at Francis Tuthill to virtually 2.4S spec in 2017 parts replaced include:
New inlet valves, new exhaust valves re-cut valve guides, rocker arms, injection pump belt, timing chain, main bearings, chain tensioners, flywheel, high compression pistons (10.5 – 1), HT leads, re-bored cylinder barrels to 85mm, throttle linkages Camshafts and much more.
New master cylinder fitted 2017, vented front discs, hydraulic hand brake.
Bilstein front struts and rear shock absorbers. New torsion bars at rear 2017
The car was built into this specification during 2004 /2005 by Dave Wright, a professional rally car mechanic with significant Porsche experience. Many of the parts including the cage, engine, gear box and suspension were sourced from Francis Tuthill’s workshop.
The object was to provide a strong reliable car which could tackle both long distance and shorter regularity rallies with the minimum of on-event maintenance. That this was achieved can be seen from the cars results, it is a front running car in any of today’s international historic regularity rallies.
