HERO Challenge One – March 2020

Bicester

A One Day Event

21st March

The first of three HERO Challenges of 2020 will be based in the Bicester area and will be predominantly aimed at novice and intermediate crews, although there will be a master’s class for the more experienced competitors.

The event will be made up of a mixture of Tests and Regularities designed to be enjoyable for all levels of experience, with navigation kept simple.  Crews will be supplied with an easy to read Routebook with no plotting required.  This should be a fun, competitive day out, traversing the quieter roads of the area, and visiting an interesting Test venue, not used on the HERO Challenge before.

Entries for the Master Class will only become available from 1st February 2020 and will be subject to how many entries remain.

HERO Challenge - March 2020

Starting at approximately 08:00 crews will take on a mixture of driving Tests and Regularities. There will be a morning coffee stop, a lunch halt and finish with a dinner and awards ceremony at the Magnolia Park Hotel, Aylesbury.

Vehicle Information

  • Only cars built pre-1986 or a model available pre-1986 are eligible to enter
  • All cars will be eligible for overall awards unless the crew are deemed to be ‘Masters’
  • The cars will be split into classes based on age and CC
  • The scoring on the Test sections is class-based so you will be scoring against other similar aged vehicles
  • Vehicle eligibility is defined in the HERO Standard Regulations

A master will be defined by both crew members in the seat they have entered the event who have finished first overall on a HERO green or blue standard event, in the top three of a red or black event (including Rally of the Tests in the overall positions including non-eligible cars), received the Gold medal on Le Jog or in the top three of a HRCR National B Road Rally in the last 3 years. If a crew begins the 2020 season not as a master, then they will remain a non-master for a period of that season.

Entries for the Master Class will only become available from 1st February 2020 and will be subject to how many entries remain.
