Flying Scotsman 2024

England to Scotland

The Fourteenth Edition

12 April - 14 April

The Flying Scotsman Rally is the premier event for vintage motor cars. There is a definite magic about it, it is escapism at its very best, providing an opportunity to abscond from the tumult of the modern world and drift back to a time when the roads were not so saturated, and life was simpler. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, HERO-ERA would like to extend an invitation to board the time machine and join in with this celebration of pre-war motoring, on the 2024 and 14th edition.

The next adventure will depart from the tranquil and luxurious Carden Park, close to Chester. Our tracks initially head East into the Derbyshire Dales then we charge North, enjoying the Yorkshire Dales on our way to the Lake District. The second day continues full steam ahead through the Scottish Lowlands to overnight on the shores of Loch Lomond. A final day exploring new territory in Western Scotland leads to the final terminus, the world famous Gleneagles Hotel.

Each day will be packed full of fine roads, tremendous company, friendly competition and of course, exquisite cars. We hope to see you in Cheshire in April 2024.

Scrutineering & Documentation

Day One

Starting from Carden Park, our tracks initially head East into the hilly and varied Derbyshire Dales. Steep limestone valleys and dramatic gritstone ridges make up the landscape here as we take in the initial competitive sections. We then push North, passing through the historic mill towns of Calderdale on our way to the rolling hills and picturesque landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales. From there, it is a short hop to our overnight halt, nestled in the Lake District.

Day Two

A scenic northerly run through the Lake District, known for its glacial ribbon lakes and rugged fells, starts a scenic day. Once over the border, we pass through the best of the Scottish Lowlands, famous for their expansive forests and deserted roads before skirting around Glasgow and crossing the River Clyde to reach our overnight halt on the shores of Loch Lomond.

Day Three

The final day continues ‘full steam ahead’ by exploring new territory in Western Scotland, where the Flying Scotsman has not ventured for quite some time. Fine roads, challenging tests and truly Scottish scenery await us as we head to our final terminus - the world famous Gleneagles Hotel.
