The HERO-ERA wristwatch represents the perfect instrument for those obsessed with time, as all rally competitors are. The stylish and sturdy case, crafted from the highest grade stainless-steel incorporates a unique circle within a square design. The quadrangular, strikingly bevelled main case is crowned with a two-tone aluminium top bezel, representing the transitions between night and day across 24 hours. Within the solid case lies the Soprod C125 GMT movement (two time zones), that is, naturally, automatic in the greatest tradition of Swiss timepieces.
The face of the watch is an elegant and classic design, delivering vital information that is unobscured by the fuss and clutter that spoils many a timepiece. With its brass hands, traditionally placed date dial and Super LumiNova indicators, the wrist-watch can be read easily, day and night. There is also the useful addition of the red arrow hand that denotes Greenwich Mean Time, allowing the wearer to keep pace with home, wherever one might find oneself in the world, a perfect addition for the time-zone crossing, adventure traveller. With all of this housed under the exquisite Sapphire crystal, that is resistant to all but the hardest diamond cutters, perfect clarity is ensured and the watch can be worn with confidence; only the finest materials for a fine timepiece.
Whilst the face is the perfect combination of form and function, the rear of the wrist-watch presents a window into the exquisite workings of the watch’s mechanism, with a view into the fine Soprod movement. It completes a refined time-piece, a mechanical piece of precision engineering designed with the historic motorist in mind.
It would be a welcome addition to any discerning collectors’ compendium, as well as being a wonderfully functional piece that can be worn day in and day out, a perfect companion for the daring adventurer. It’s ability as a useable adventurer’s watch is reinforced by the addition of a leather travelling pouch, that will not only keep this time-piece protected, but provides a second pocket to store one’s evening watch. Surely the perfect companion for the daytime explorer and night time bon vivant?
